The beginning of the Whitecaps lineage plays out much like a Disney movie. Twenty-three young men from rival high schools having to form together under one banner. At the helm, a high speed-low drag rookie head coach and a grizzled but respected veteran coach. The rookie, determined and driven. The veteran, wanting to see the program gifted into caring and capable hands prior to riding off into the sunset of coaching retirement.

Outside the cinema, this shouldn’t work... But it did. 

The 2023-2024 started with a humble goal: win half of every game that we played. At the end of the season, true to form, the team concluded their inaugural season with a record of 13-12. One game over .500. One game.

The team with only five seniors. The team that had only met months prior. The team that had never met their head coach prior to August. The team that started it all.
